Nia Jacket

Nia Jacket is a loose fit jacket made from vintage blankets covered with fabric remnants appliquéd by hand. The jacket is made with a delicate shawl collar and has dropped shoulders and wrist length sleeves. The jacket has pockets at front and comes with a detachable belt for a more feminine shape. All seams and edges are covered by striped cotton tapes.

This blanket wear item has been made from handmade blankets embroidered in India by skilled artisans in small villages. By using only human hands and no machines, we cherish traditional Indian handwork and our love for slow fashion and traditional crafts. The patches, used for the embroidery, are mostly leftover fabric. As part of the process, you might notice small differences between the front and back, a natural detail of this unique craft. At SISSEL EDELBO we love to find new, innovative ways to make fashionable clothes. One way is to use leftover fabrics instead of producing new.
