Gingerbread House Ornament

Obs: Each Ornament is one of a kind, with varying colors and patterns, as they are made from upcycled kantha fabric. This means that when you purchase an ornament, the colors may differ from what is pictured, making each piece truly unique.

Gingerbread Kantha House Ornament is made from leftover kantha blankets, and it is beautifully decorated with sequins and sparkling silver lurex along all the edges. It is perfect for decorating for the most joyful Christmas and spreading the Christmas spirit around the house!

Year after year you can decorate your Christmas tree or your home with this ornament. The kantha used for this ornament is kantha cuttings that are left over from production of the upcycled kantha blanket garments in our collections. The kantha embroidery technique, creatively upcycles old cotton saris, that previously have been worn by Indian women, giving them new life as upcycled items. This technique is characterized by the many rows of short, continuous stitches – a method that has been used in India for hundreds of years and especially common among women in the countryside. As part of our values, we cherish the idea of upcycling and using existing leftover fabrics. Due to the nature of kantha, you may find different colors on the back of the item, additional fabric patches, smaller imperfections such as small stains and spots or extra stitching that adds to its unique charm.
